Today, delegates from all over Europe joined RNID for its conference on "Access to the Information Society for deaf, hard of hearing and speech-impaired people" in Brussels. Major speakers and over 200 attendees, including Erkki Liikanen, European Commissioner for Enterprise and the Information Society, John Low, RNID Chief Executive and Guido Gybels, RNID Director of New Technologies, discussed the problems and potential solutions to open up the Information Society for all deaf, hard of hearing and speech-impaired people and to start removing some of the barriers to opportunity and fulfilment. A full overview of the proceedings can be found on the conference website.
