Innovative video relay service for deaf people faces closure

RNID, the charity representing the 9 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK, regret to announce the impending closure of RNID SignTalk, the charity's fledgling telecoms service for deaf people, despite a very positive evaluation of sign language video relay services by Ofcom. SignTalk is now scheduled to close at the end of March 2007 due to lack of funding. The service will be reduced to one day a week for the next three months.
